Sharjah: His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, has allocated Dh2.5 million to update libraries across the Emirate.
The funds will be used to provide public and governmental libraries with the latest publications from Arabic and international publishers participating in the 16th Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival.
The initiative reflects Sheikh Sultan’s ongoing commitment to transforming libraries into hubs for knowledge and skill development.
It aims to support the publishing sector, empower publishers, and expand educational resources for future generations.
This initiative is designed to foster a culture of research, knowledge, and reading in Sharjah.
Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), praised the grant, emphasizing its role in human development and strengthening the publishing industry.
She highlighted how this vision will provide new opportunities for young readers and contribute to Sharjah's transformation into a center for knowledge, creativity, and cultural exchange.
